About the Role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will lead supplier selection and auditing during design and development, act as the quality representative on cross‑functional teams, and manage supplier scorecard reviews, audits, and corrective actions to ensure quality, delivery, and service targets are met. They will prioritize auditing schedules and ensure timely closure of any identified issues. The role also drives cost‑saving projects by allocating resources, aligning supplier performance with long‑term strategies, and serving as the primary interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep project schedules on track. This includes coordinating qualification processes and meeting project requirements. In addition, the engineer will audit supplier compliance with organizational, customer, and regulatory requirements, maintain regular communication and site visits, and support product transfers to contract manufacturing sites while developing necessary quality plans and protocols. Effective corrective actions for quality and delivery problems are a key focus. Performance monitoring includes tracking schedule and quality metrics, holding periodic meetings with Supplier Quality Managers and Category Managers, and ensuring accountability for continuous improvement and proper control plans for part and process changes. • Lead supplier selection and conduct audits during design and development phases. • Develop and prioritize auditing schedules, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions. • Serve as supplier quality representative on cross‑functional teams and conduct supplier scorecard reviews. • Drive cost‑saving projects by allocating resources, aligning supplier performance with long‑term strategies, and acting as key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders. • Audit supplier compliance with organizational, customer, and regulatory requirements; maintain regular communication and site visits. • Support product transfers to contract manufacturing sites and develop required quality plans and protocols. • Monitor and report supplier operational performance, tracking schedule and quality metrics. • Hold periodic meetings with Supplier Quality Managers and Category Managers to enforce quality improvements and control plans. • Ensure effectiveness of supplier root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

What You Bring

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 15+ years of supplier quality experience with at least 5 years in leadership or project management, hands‑on knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001, and proficiency with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, and control plans. Preferred certifications are ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Green Belt, and willingness to travel up to 60% domestically. • Minimum qualifications: bachelor’s degree in engineering, 15+ years supplier quality experience, 5+ years managerial or project‑management experience. • Technical skills: AS9100/ISO 9001, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, machining/metal processing knowledge, Minitab, statistical decision‑making. • Preferred certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt or higher. • Willingness to travel up to 60% domestically.
