About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs across commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment at assigned facilities. The technician supports the operation of various building systems, maintains equipment, responds to emergencies, inspects for safety issues, and ensures compliance with codes and company policies. They also assist with installations, modifications, and upgrades, and perform carpentry, snow removal, and painting tasks as needed. • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC • Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations or savings opportunities • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, fire pumps, and related equipment • Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and practice safe work habits • Use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web‑based applications, and building automation systems • Complete all required C&W safety training annually • Comply with C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat appearance while on the property

What You Bring

Key competencies include technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multitasking, a sense of urgency, and at least a high school diploma or GED. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in a commercial property setting and relevant technical training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry. A valid driver’s license with a good record is required, along with basic computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. The role may involve shift work, on‑call duties, and extended periods without relief. The position operates in a professional office environment while also requiring regular movement, manual handling, and stationary tasks.
