About the Role

The Lead Electrical Engineer will work within multi‑discipline project teams to develop drawings and specifications, coordinate design activities, and design electrical power, emergency power, fire alarm, life safety, lighting and control systems. They will schedule and select components, perform load, short‑circuit and voltage‑drop calculations, and provide construction‑administration services. The role also includes attending stakeholder meetings, interacting with regulatory agencies, collaborating on business development, supervising junior engineers, and upholding ethical standards and company policies. • Develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors, and owners • Coordinate electrical design activities within multi‑discipline teams • Perform load, short‑circuit and voltage‑drop calculations and select equipment • Provide construction‑administration services and attend stakeholder meetings • Supervise and mentor junior engineers • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and WSP’s ethical standards

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering and have 7–10 years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial, pharmaceutical, laboratory, commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities. A professional engineering license is preferred, and applicants should be proficient in electrical principles, building design, planning, construction management, and relevant codes and regulations. Strong technical computation skills, ability to direct subcontractors safely, and a proven safety record are required, along with flexibility for extended work hours and occasional travel. • Design power, emergency power, fire alarm, life safety, lighting and control systems • Hold a B.S. in electrical or architectural engineering with 7–10 years of relevant experience • Professional engineering license and LEED AP certification preferred • Proficient in electrical design principles, building codes, and construction management • Demonstrated safety leadership and ability to direct subcontractors
