About the Role

The Tower Technician III installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. You will follow MasTec health, safety, and environmental policies as well as industry standards, climb towers and ladders, and assist with tower erection using various methods. Additional duties include site preparation, material handling, antenna and transmission line installation, and mentoring newer technicians. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA-10-48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders, erect various tower types, and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole installations. • Off‑load material, prepare sites, and install carriers on new and existing towers. • Assemble monopoles, weld and knock‑down self‑support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma, at least four years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical drawings. Safety awareness, the capacity to lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and a valid driver’s license are required, with NWSA certification considered a plus. Strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to work long‑term, hands‑on projects are essential. • Minimum 4 years tower experience, high school diploma, ability to climb, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 h, and valid driver’s license. • Possession of NWSA certification is a plus.
