About the Role
• Understand the data center building design process and provide leadership for the entire design team. • Conceptually challenge architectural designers and engineers early on to shape design strategies. • Recruit, mentor, and grow data center design team members while identifying hiring needs. • Collaborate with sector directors and local leadership to generate new client relationships and expand services for existing clients. • Develop strategies, capture plans, and build relationships with key clients. • Support creation of qualifications packages and proposal submittals. • Work with operations leadership on pursuit go/no‑go and strategy decisions. • Maintain knowledge of client technical needs, market trends, and client assessments to anticipate and capture contracts. • Partner with other sectors and business groups to pursue new business prospects and existing opportunities. • Assist in developing project scope, schedule, and fee, and communicate staffing and expertise requirements to operational leadership. • Participate in HDR’s annual strategy/planning activities and lead strategy development for the Industrial and Tech Sector. • Monitor and track project execution across commercial, technical, and financial dimensions. • Leverage all HDR services in technical leadership for data center facilities, civil utilities, site infrastructure, corporate campuses, site selection, and energy facilities.

What You Bring
Success in this role requires a proven history of technical leadership in managing facilities for hyperscale data‑center clients, as well as the ability to build relationships, drive proposals, and deliver projects throughout North America. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. • At least 15 years of related experience. • Minimum of 7 years project management experience. • Registered Architect licensure. • Experience delivering large‑scale projects. • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver client presentations. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project). • Extensive knowledge of local and regional markets. • Strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. • Willingness to travel as required.
