About the Role
The Electrical & Instrumentation Field Planner is responsible for developing work scopes, creating detailed planning activities in Primavera P6, and assembling comprehensive job packages for execution. This role provides leadership in risk management, safety, and housekeeping while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. • Assist in development of electrical and instrument work scope. • Identify, scope, and produce construction work packages for execution. • Perform and lead field walks for site verification. • Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues. • Organize materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring correct parts are available. • Create detailed planning activities in P6 for each work order, including tasks, manpower, durations, and discipline. • Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution. • Create job planning packages per client guidelines, including pictures, P&IDs, BOMs, tools, safe work procedures, standards, and QC requirements. • Support client Management of Change process, documenting plant changes and recommendations promptly. • Effectively communicate scope, revisions, and activity breakdowns to other groups. • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and conduct formal inspections. • Complete closeout and documentation per Air Products standards and procedures. • Remain calm in demanding situations. • Promote teamwork philosophy. • Maintain high ethical standards; uncompromising on worker safety and regulatory compliance. • Assist craft workers and supervisors in solving complex E&I problems. • Develop detailed scope, documentation, and insert into executable work package. • Field estimate activities and durations for detailed schedules for capital and cost jobs. • Build detailed bill of materials from drawings, scope, and experience. • Track all facets of scope development electronically. • Hold toolbox meetings and inspections to achieve safety goals. • Maintain good written records and utilize SAP effectively. • Collaborate with maintenance, operations asset managers, and shift supervisors to plan prioritized work. • Develop work plans, create material requisitions, and order materials needed to facilitate work. • Work as part of a team to ensure successful project planning and execution.

What You Bring
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and P&IDs. • Experience preparing and reviewing test/work packages for field issuance. • 3+ years as an Electrical and Instrumentation Planner. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), SAP, Primavera P6, and Adobe. • 5+ years journey-level maintenance experience in Electrical/Instrumentation or maintenance planning. • 5+ years experience in Electrical and Instrumentation construction. • Willing to work varied scheduled days/hours following fatigue management; travel up to 25–45% as needed. • Ability to work without close supervision. • Work professionally and harmoniously with co‑workers, supervisors, management, and others. • Utilize positive, constructive attitude toward problem and conflict resolution. • Accept direction, criticism, and supervision. • Manage time effectively to complete tasks promptly. • Demonstrate efficient and reliable performance across all job categories. • Achieve required state-mandated certifications (OSHA, TWIC, etc.). • Demonstrate positive, supportive, cooperative behavior with co‑workers, supervisors, and management. • Read and interpret electrical drawings, manuals, schematics, and P&IDs; possess strong general knowledge of electrical design and customer relations. • Understand inspection, operation, and performance requirements. • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to communicate with all management levels.
