Manage HSE for HVDC mega‑project, ensure compliance, lead investigations and safety coaching.

About the Role
The manager will establish and improve the site HSE system, including the Site HSE Plan, Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan and Construction Traffic Management Plan. Responsibilities include preparing risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and acting as the primary HSE point of contact for the project team and frontline managers. Key duties involve collecting leading and lagging HSE indicators for KPI reporting, coordinating with client and subcontractor HSE representatives, and managing hazardous simultaneous operations through approved safe systems of work. The role also delivers HSE campaigns such as toolbox talks, safety drills, and provides guidance to on‑site personnel. • Develop and maintain Site HSE Plan, Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan, and Construction Traffic Management Plan. • Create and review risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work. • Serve as the primary HSE focal point, coordinating with site, project, and management teams. • Collect and report leading and lagging HSE indicators for KPI generation. • Liaise with client and subcontractor HSE representatives. • Identify and manage hazardous simultaneous operations with approved safe systems of work. • Deliver HSE campaigns, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and drills. • Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Analyse incident and hazard data to propose risk‑reduction measures. • Perform regular site inspections and engage personnel in safety conversations. • Promote Hitachi Energy HSE processes and the ‘We Care’ behavioral safety program. • Ensure compliance with environmental protection measures, waste management, and wildlife protection. • Maintain adherence to external/internal regulations, ISO 45001, and company guidelines.

What You Bring
Candidates must have over ten years of HSE management experience on large industrial projects, a graduate or diploma in industrial safety (RLI/CLI/ADIS), and qualification under the BOCW Act. Fluency in English, familiarity with ISO 45001 (internal auditor training advantageous) and formal incident investigation training are required. • Minimum 10 years of HSE management experience on large industrial projects.
