About the Role
The role operates various heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and articulated dump trucks to perform construction tasks including material handling, land clearing, excavation, road grading, and underground utility work on heavy civil, industrial, and wind projects. The operator must follow company safety policies, navigate and control equipment, build and level terrain, remove topsoil and vegetation, load materials onto trucks, excavate OSHA‑compliant trenches, coordinate with crew members, communicate clearly, perform routine maintenance, and travel to multiple job sites as directed. • Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and articulated dump trucks for construction tasks. • Build, level, and grade terrain; remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks. • Load dirt, stone, equipment, and waste onto trucks. • Excavate trenches to OSHA‑specified slopes. • Coordinate equipment movements with crew signals and maintain clear communication. • Perform daily equipment maintenance (cleaning, greasing, oiling) and complete maintenance reports.

What You Bring
Candidates need 1‑3 years of heavy‑equipment experience (minimum one year), the ability to read safety and maintenance documents, basic arithmetic for weight/volume calculations, strong mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of MIC health and safety programs. Additional expectations include participation in toolbox talks, safe‑behavior modeling, and the ability to follow precise procedures. The position involves up to 12‑hour shifts of strenuous physical labor in varying weather, requiring lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, working at heights, and wearing required personal protective equipment in noisy, dusty, and temperature‑extreme conditions. • Travel to various job sites on short notice and adapt to assigned duties. • 1–3 years of heavy‑equipment operation experience (minimum 1 year). • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance procedures. • Basic arithmetic skills for weight and volume calculations. • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and participation in toolbox meetings. • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑identification skills. • Ability to follow precise standards and procedures. • Physical ability to lift 50 lb, work at heights, and endure variable environmental conditions.
