About the Role
The Kitchen Porter ensures the kitchen environment remains clean, safe, and well‑stocked while supporting the culinary team throughout daily operations. They collaborate with supervisors and banquet staff to address cleaning tasks, inventory needs, and equipment handling. • Maintain immaculate food preparation areas and overall kitchen cleanliness. • Ensure safe and sanitary conditions for all food‑service equipment. • Provide courteous handling, storage, and movement of kitchen equipment. • Follow COSHH guidelines and safely use cleaning chemicals. • Perform swift garbage removal and clean kitchens before and after operations. • Assist with inventory control of catering equipment, plateware, and cleaning supplies. • Manage linen usage, removing soiled items for laundry and restocking as needed. • Support culinary staff with side work, cleaning, and organization. • Safely operate and maintain vehicles for transporting catering materials. • Conduct bio‑hazard clean‑up and proper chemical disposal. • Maintain flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have prior experience in hospitality or a related service field, a positive and professional demeanor, and strong communication skills. They must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and capable of handling the physical demands of standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 lb in various weather conditions. English proficiency is required, with additional language abilities considered an asset. • Communicate task status verbally and in writing with supervisors. • Prior hospitality or service industry experience preferred. • Demonstrate a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills. • Work effectively in a team and stay calm during busy periods. • Speak, read, and write English fluently; additional languages are a plus. • Meet physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 75 lb, and working in varied weather conditions.
