About the Role

• Lead archaeological field programs, including surveys, testing, excavations, or monitoring. • Coordinate with clients, Indigenous groups, and regulators to meet technical requirements. • Engage respectfully with Indigenous communities throughout project lifecycles. • Provide mentorship and direction to junior staff members. • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget from inception to completion. • Track health, safety, quality, communication, and documentation for each project. • Participate actively in WSP’s “Safety First” health and safety program. • Conduct analysis and contribute to proposals, technical reports, and permit submissions. • Identify, record, and evaluate archaeological sites. • Conduct fieldwork in varied weather and extended periods. • Prepare clear written and verbal reports and communications.

What You Bring

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Archaeologist for its Heritage team in British Columbia. Based in the Lower Mainland, the role supports province‑wide archaeological projects and works toward Field Director qualification, preferably in the Northwest Coast culture area. The position offers diverse field and project experience within multidisciplinary teams. • Hold Field Director status or strong supervision experience, preferably in Northwest Coast culture area. • Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. • Use GPS, handheld tablets, and digital data‑collection tools; ESRI Field Maps is a plus. • Demonstrate strong Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills; detail‑oriented and results‑driven. • Maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license and high professional ethics.
