About the Role
The Maintenance Technician I inspects, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, plant utilities, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. The role performs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building‑related maintenance tasks, supporting production uptime through preventive and corrective activities. Responsibilities include repairing malfunctioning machines, equipment, and tools, performing electrical and electronic system repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance and lubrication. The technician also assists with the installation and relocation of production machinery, completes building and facility maintenance, and operates industrial vehicles for material handling. Additional duties involve training other employees, supporting cross‑training initiatives, participating in special projects, and performing other tasks as assigned to support overall maintenance operations. • Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, plant utilities, and facility systems. • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building‑related maintenance tasks. • Conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication to ensure equipment reliability. • Repair malfunctioning machines, equipment, small tools, and electrical/electronic systems. • Assist with installation and relocation of production machinery and equipment. • Operate industrial vehicles for material and equipment movement. • Provide training, support cross‑training, and participate in special projects. • Execute work orders with minimal oversight.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of industrial maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably HVAC training or certification, as well as certifications in electrical, mechanical, or an associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance. Lean or Six Sigma experience and familiarity with PLC, hydraulics, and pneumatics are desired. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work with minimal oversight. Physical requirements include operating powered lifting equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting items up to 45 pounds while standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pulling for extended periods. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA; no relocation assistance is provided. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required is expected. • Apply knowledge of PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lean manufacturing principles. • Possess at least five years of industrial maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED. • Hold HVAC training/certification and/or electrical, mechanical certifications or an associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance. • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, problem‑solving skills and basic computer literacy.
