About the Role
As a Customer Order Engineer you will provide engineering services with minimal direction, interpreting customer drawings and specifications for manufacturing, interacting with the sales force and customers on job‑specific details such as board approvals and witness tests, and designing circuits to meet application requirements. You will create engineering documentation for drafting, procurement, and manufacturing, coordinate technical guidance to production personnel, support product marketing, and provide negotiation and application support for field sales. Key responsibilities include maintaining current knowledge of product engineering technologies and competitor capabilities, serving as the primary technical liaison for customers, reviewing and analyzing product configurations, performing engineering calculations, and contributing input to drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing teams. You will participate in product design, market and product improvements, productivity, quality, and safety initiatives, attend customer project review and drawing‑approval meetings, lead customer inspections and witness tests, and manage order projects to meet OTP objectives, reduce cycle times, and handle changes and warranty issues. • Interpret customer drawings and specifications for manufacturing. • Interact with sales teams and customers on board approvals and witness tests. • Design circuits to meet application requirements. • Create engineering documentation for drafting, procurement, and manufacturing. • Provide technical guidance to production personnel. • Support product marketing and negotiate application support for field sales. • Maintain knowledge of engineering technologies, competitor capabilities, and market conditions. • Serve as primary technical liaison for customers, addressing product application, performance, and compliance. • Review product configurations, perform engineering calculations, and coordinate with drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing. • Participate in product design, market improvements, productivity, quality, and safety initiatives. • Lead customer inspections and witness tests. • Manage order projects to meet on‑time‑performance objectives, reduce cycle times, and handle changes and warranty issues. • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines. • Equal‑opportunity employer; considers applicants with conviction histories per fair‑chance regulations.

What You Bring
Basic required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution and experience with PLC or relay programming. Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Greenwood, SC, unless they are active‑duty military; no relocation assistance is provided, and the company does not sponsor immigration visas. The expected annual salary range is $71,000‑$105,000, plus eligibility for a variable incentive program, with salary based on skills, experience, and market considerations.
