About the Role
The Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer is responsible for reviewing designs, creating commissioning plans, and managing testing processes to validate equipment and integrated systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, as well as solid engineering and project management skills. The role involves ensuring PLC/DDC commissioning sequences meet project requirements and conducting point‑to‑point and functional performance testing. The engineer will develop and implement comprehensive commissioning strategies, schedules, and methodologies aligned with industry best practices. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex systems, coordinating testing activities, and collaborating with design teams, vendors, and facility management to resolve issues. Effective communication of project status, risks, and documentation is essential, along with providing technical support to project teams. • Review designs and develop commissioning plans for data center projects. • Manage testing processes (Levels 1‑4) to validate equipment and integrated systems. • Conduct system point‑to‑point and functional performance testing for PLC/DDC and BMS/DCS. • Collaborate with construction teams, vendors, and clients to resolve issues and improve operations. • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning strategies, schedules, and documentation. • Troubleshoot complex systems and third‑party integrations, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance. • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. • Provide technical support to engineers, contractors, and vendors.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, and have at least five years of relevant experience in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting building management or data center DCS systems. Strong technical aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are required. Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards, and familiarity with ACMV controls or Johnson Controls Metasys/Niagara platforms is advantageous. • Minimum 5 years experience in commissioning/testing of BMS or DCS systems. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • Strong technical aptitude, communication skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. • Knowledge of ACMV, controls, Johnson Controls Metasys or Niagara (advantage).
