About the Role
As a crane operator, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of distribution network upgrades throughout the state, working across both metropolitan and regional locations to enhance infrastructure reliability and resilience. • Perform planned distribution works, including installation and replacement of poles, ground stays, transformers, and switchgear • Operate mobile slewing cranes to support pole replacements and lifting activities • Assist with network upgrade projects such as reconductoring and transformer installations, including plant operation • Contribute to network resilience initiatives, particularly in regional communities • Work across metropolitan and regional WA to support infrastructure improvement efforts • Ensure all field operations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards • Support maintenance of large, complex assets across transmission and distribution networks

Ventia looks for skilled, safety‑focused operators with relevant certifications, practical experience in powerline work, and a positive attitude, while recognising that additional training and licences are highly desirable. • Valid Mobile Slewing Crane ticket with hands‑on crane operation experience • Proven background in powerline work, especially within Western Australia • Experience on Western Power projects (advantageous) • Crane supplementary training and live‑work experience (highly desirable) • Current driver’s licence, HR class strongly preferred • High Risk Work Licences (C2‑C6, DG, LF, CV or higher) • Skilled and safety‑focused attitude
