About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer supports battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the entire equipment lifecycle, working closely with engineering, supply chain, and construction teams. The role handles supplier selection, audits, FAT coordination, and field support for key components such as batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and auxiliary systems, aiming to prevent quality issues at the source and resolve non‑conformances before shipment. • Drive supplier selection, evaluation, and qualification using company quality processes. • Define and document supplier quality processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and other requirements. • Conduct supplier process audits at new and existing vendors per ISO 9001 and company standards. • Maintain audit planning and reporting documentation for all supplier audits. • Update the supplier quality database and control documents. • Manage supplier‑related quality issues, lead root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. • Review and approve supplier quality documents, including ITPs, FAT procedures, and control plans. • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests at OEMs and ensure results meet approved criteria. • Identify, log, and track non‑conformances, driving timely root cause analysis and corrective actions with vendors. • Validate supplier material traceability records, certificates, and inspection reports. • Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to qualify new vendors and support onboarding. • Provide supplier performance feedback for quality metrics and scorecards. • Maintain complete, accurate, traceable quality documentation for each project. • Support continuous improvement of quality standards, templates, and best practices across equipment types.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering or related field. • 3–7 years of supplier or product quality engineering experience in energy or manufacturing. • Hands‑on experience with electrical power systems, BESS, inverters, transformers, switchgear preferred. • Experience conducting supplier process audits (VDA 6.3 a plus). • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and tools (8D, SPC, PFMEA, control plans, FAI/PPAP). • Familiarity with codes and standards such as IEEE 1547, UL 9540/9540A, IEC, NEC. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with practical manufacturing understanding. • Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities for interfacing with suppliers and cross‑functional teams. • Experience with Tier 1 energy equipment manufacturers. • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certifications. • Familiarity with quality management tools, NCR tracking systems, and dashboard reporting.
