About the Role
In this position you will lead and support planning policy initiatives, provide strategic advice, and represent AECOM in client and stakeholder interactions. You will also ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and upholding quality and health‑and‑safety standards. • Lead and support planning policy projects, including local authority policy, strategic growth studies, and infrastructure strategies. • Provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams. • Build and maintain relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders; represent AECOM at conferences and networking events. • Ensure projects are delivered on budget and schedule, coordinating multidisciplinary teams for seamless execution. • Contribute to quality assurance, health and safety compliance, and deliverables for the planning policy team. • Support business development by nurturing client relationships and preparing commercial tenders.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has significant experience leading planning policy and strategy development, strong client and stakeholder management skills, and a business‑development mindset. Required competencies include high‑quality technical reporting, excellent communication, the ability to work independently under pressure, and a degree in Town Planning with RTPI membership or progress towards it. • Significant experience leading planning policy and strategy development in consultancy or public sector roles. • Proven client and stakeholder management with existing relationships in local authorities. • Business‑development mindset with a track record of winning work. • Strong technical report writing and excellent communication skills. • Ability to work independently under pressure and take initiative. • Degree in Town Planning (or related) with RTPI membership or progress towards it.
