About the Role

The Environmental & Sustainability Engineer will serve as a key member of complex infrastructure project teams, overseeing sustainability evaluation and environmental compliance from project conception through design, construction, and closeout. This role supports interdisciplinary collaboration to meet project sustainability goals and secure necessary permits. • Analyze and evaluate primary and secondary sustainability and environmental data. • Provide technical consultations and guidance to interdisciplinary project teams throughout planning, design, tendering, and construction to achieve sustainability goals and secure permits. • Prepare technical studies, reports, narratives, and supporting documentation. • Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations for environmental compliance and sustainability. • Prepare and submit permit and license applications and coordinate with authorities to obtain approvals. • Ensure design compliance with applicable codes and regulations, providing professional engineer seal/signature when required. • Develop technical provisions, specifications, and purchase requisitions that include sustainability performance requirements. • Create environmental and sustainability operational plans and procedures. • Review deliverables from consultants, suppliers, and contractors for accuracy and quality. • Respond to RFIs and technical queries, coordinating with stakeholders to gather necessary information. • Coordinate and participate in meetings with clients, environmental agencies, consultants, and contractors.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or related natural sciences; Master’s degree preferred. • Estidama PCRS PQP certification. • At least 8 years of engineering design, project management, or sustainability consultancy experience, including 4 years in a sustainability role. • Completion of at least one sustainability credential (e.g., LEED GA/AP) and participation in two certified sustainability projects. • Experience with climate change risk and vulnerability assessments and resilience planning. • Ability to coordinate across diverse teams to achieve project sustainability objectives. • Knowledge of international sustainability frameworks such as LEED, BREEAM, CEEQUAL, Estidama, and Envision. • Familiarity with ISO 14040/14044 Life Cycle Assessments and greenhouse gas inventory preparation. • Experience developing project-specific environmental, sustainability, and resilience plans. • Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently. • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and established work processes.
