About the Role

The position will oversee field staff, coordinate construction activities, and ensure project delivery aligns with design specifications, budget, and schedule. It also involves preparing quality and safety plans, supporting business development efforts, and fostering relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. The engineer will act as a visible leader and trusted advisor, embodying AECOM’s values. • Provide technical direction and guidance to staff and subordinate engineers/inspectors, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and ensure construction adheres to design, budget, and schedule. • Supervise field staff, coordinate field activities, and deliver project progress reports to the client and AECOM Department Manager. • Prepare and manage quality and safety plans for the project. • Collaborate with the Department Manager on development and execution of significant project pursuits and delivery. • Formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies with the Department Manager, including teaming, positioning for major pursuits, proposal support, and staff resource identification. • Establish relationships with external clients, industry associations, potential consultant team members, and construction contractors. • Act as a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients, promoting AECOM’s values internally and externally.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BA or BS with at least eight years of relevant experience, be a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, and have prior ODOT experience and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include ten or more years of resident engineering experience on road and bridge projects, experience in pre‑positioning and proposal development, and a degree in civil engineering or construction management. • BA/BS + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. • Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio. • Prior experience working with ODOT. • Valid Driver’s License required. • Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development. • 10+ years of resident engineering experience managing major roadway and bridge construction projects. • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
