Job Highlights
About the Role
The Dispatcher communicates with WM drivers to assist with problem resolution while they are on route, handles incoming service orders, directs drivers, and resolves service issues. They interact with customers, WM customer service, sales, and operational staff such as route managers and mechanics, using WM proprietary software to enter ticket information and track activity. Shifts vary and may include overtime and Saturday hours depending on site needs. • Communicate with WM drivers to resolve on‑route problems and handle incoming service orders. • Dispatch drivers using customer needs, driver location, loads, and cost‑speed balance. • Field and manage inbound calls and emails for pick‑up or container delivery, ensuring same‑day service. • Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on‑site to resolve pick‑up issues. • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery and pick‑up problems before they become service issues. • Record driver information and distribute documentation to appropriate departments. • Coordinate with maintenance shop personnel and act as emergency contact for down wires. • Serve as point person for the manager, coordinating projects and delegating work in their absence. • Act as an escalation point for other dispatchers and train new dispatchers. • Provide coverage across Commercial, Residential, and Roll‑Off lines of business and multiple sites as needed.

The remote position offers a base pay range of $50,000‑$65,000, subject to experience, education, and location.
