About the Role

You will be accountable for several maintenance requirement or optimisation investigations at any one time, gathering data from the wider team and the relevant Design Authorities within the SDA. You will drive each investigation to a successful conclusion and integrate as a key contributor within the JPET Scrum‑Agile team, using Azure DevOps for work management and planning. The core JPET team operates from the Babcock Technology Centre in Bristol, with members also based in Cardiff. • Lead multiple maintenance optimisation investigations simultaneously. • Collect and analyse data from design authorities and internal teams. • Deliver investigation outcomes using Azure DevOps within a Scrum‑Agile framework. • Collaborate with JPET members located in Bristol and Cardiff. • Apply mechanical/electrical or safety engineering expertise to submarine maintenance. • Develop and challenge maintenance requirements against NSRP safety case. • Produce clear investigative reports and documentation. • Contribute to Rolls‑Royce’s inclusive, high‑performance culture and transformation programme.

What You Bring

The role requires experience within the UK Submarines Enterprise, a background in mechanical/electrical or safety engineering, and a proven ability to develop and challenge maintenance requirements. A good understanding of the NSRP Safety Case, an investigative mindset, proficiency with Azure DevOps and strong report‑writing skills are also required. A UK Security Check clearance is mandatory; Rolls‑Royce will support the application if you do not already hold it, and eligibility is limited to UK nationals or MoD‑approved dual nationals. The position is graded at levels 7‑9, with salary dependent on experience, and the company’s multi‑year transformation programme aims to build a high‑performing, competitive and resilient business.
