About the Role

The Senior Construction Inspector will join the Critical Infrastructure team to support large‑scale projects such as road widening, bridge remediation, and underground infrastructure development. Working closely with senior project managers, the inspector conducts daily inspections to verify contract adherence and compliance with provincial and municipal codes, particularly MTO specifications. Key duties include ensuring health, safety, and environmental regulations are met, maintaining detailed daily diaries and photographic records, and performing inspections according to MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications. The role also involves coordinating onsite sub‑consultants, overseeing material testing, reporting installed quantities for payment and change‑order verification, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. • Perform daily bridge and road inspections to verify compliance with contract specifications. • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site. • Document construction activities with detailed diaries and photographs. • Conduct inspections following MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications. • Coordinate sub‑consultants and oversee quality‑assurance material testing. • Report installed quantities for monthly payments and change‑order validation. • Maintain organized project files, quantity calculations, and contract documentation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience, and be PEO‑ or OACETT‑registered, preferably as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI). At least 10 years of construction inspection experience on MTO or municipal transportation projects, familiarity with CAIS, design standards, OPS specifications, and quality‑control testing methods are required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, a valid Class “G” driver’s license, and the ability to lift 25 kg and work nights or weekends are also essential. • Utilize MS Word and Excel for reporting and data management. • Provide personal transportation and hold a valid Class “G” driver’s licence. • Lift up to 25 kg and be available to work nights or weekends as required.
