General Counsel

About the Role

In this position the General Counsel will act as the chief advisor on legal matters spanning operations, finance, supply chain, people, and growth initiatives, handling corporate governance, board support, entity management, and regulatory compliance. • Provide strategic legal counsel to leadership across operations, finance, supply chain, people, and growth. • Manage corporate legal matters such as governance, board support, entity management, and regulatory compliance. • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor, customer, partnership, financing, and real‑estate contracts. • Build and oversee a legal and risk‑management framework, policies, and internal controls for rapid growth. • Advise on employment and workforce issues, including policies, employee relations, compensation, and multi‑jurisdiction compliance. • Counsel on regulatory requirements and consumer‑protection standards for the home electrification model. • Direct intellectual property strategy, covering trademarks and protection of proprietary technology and AI tools. • Oversee external counsel relationships to ensure quality and cost‑effective support. • Drive continuous improvement of legal operations using technology and automation.

What You Bring

Jetson is seeking an experienced, business‑minded General Counsel to serve as the senior legal leader. The role will work closely with the executive team and leaders across the organization to enable growth while managing risk, compliance, and governance. The ideal candidate holds a JD and is a member in good standing with a Canadian provincial bar (BC preferred), brings at least eight years of law firm and in‑house experience, and has deep expertise in commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance, along with strong communication and collaborative leadership skills. • JD or equivalent law degree; member in good standing with a Canadian provincial bar (BC preferred). • 8+ years of relevant legal experience, combining law‑firm and in‑house roles. • Strong expertise in commercial contracting, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. • Pragmatic, solutions‑oriented business judgment with ability to balance speed and risk. • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance. • Comfort with modern legal tools and interest in leveraging AI for workflow improvements. • Collaborative leadership style with a proven record of building trust across cross‑functional teams.
