General Labourer

About the Role

The General Labourer role involves branding, framing, inspecting, and preparing products for treatment within a unionized environment. The position requires safe operation of equipment, adherence to OHSA standards, and the ability to work independently while handling various tasks such as cleaning work areas and performing additional duties as assigned. The employee must be flexible regarding work assignments and capable of performing tasks without causing damage to product or equipment. • Inspect product for compliance to standards • Modify product length or surface using chainsaw • Brand and tag product to specifications • Re‑classify product as required and accurately record re‑classifications • Operate company equipment safely and responsibly • Clean up the work area • Follow OHSA workplace health and safety standards

What You Bring

• Grade 12 or equivalent • Proficient in English • Forklift experience (asset) • Minimum one year of related experience • Power‑tool experience (chainsaw, drill, etc.) • Effective interpersonal and communication skills • Strong attention to detail • Knowledge of utility pole and customer standards (asset) • Time and stress management abilities • Ability to perform tasks without damaging product or equipment • Work independently and adapt to changing assignments • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Basic math skills
