About the Role

Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, and washing floors and other interior surfaces; operating light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines; vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑cleaning and shampooing rugs as directed; dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and performing periodic high dusting; cleaning interior glass, windowsills, doors, partitions, and entrance glass; spot‑cleaning interior walls daily; and maintaining bathrooms by wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing dispensers, cleaning tiles and fixtures, and restocking supplies. Additional responsibilities involve monitoring and reporting defects such as clogged urinals or out‑of‑order lights, collecting building trash daily and replacing liners, sweeping or shoveling snow from entrances and walkways as directed, and performing periodic tasks such as leather and wood polishing, high‑dusting, and wall washing, along with any other duties assigned. • Sweep, mop, and wash floors and interior surfaces using commercial buffers and shampoo machines. • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑clean and shampoo rugs as directed. • Dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and perform periodic high dusting. • Clean interior glass, windowsills, doors, partitions, and entrance glass. • Spot‑clean interior walls daily and conduct periodic wall washing. • Maintain and restock bathrooms, including wiping glass, emptying waste, servicing dispensers, and cleaning fixtures. • Monitor and report defects such as clogged urinals or out‑of‑order lights. • Collect building trash daily, replace liners, and place waste in designated containers. • Sweep or shovel snow from building entrances and walkways as directed. • Perform periodic tasks such as leather and wood polishing and high‑dusting.

What You Bring

The Cleaner, titled Porter (Non‑Union), works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor at C&W Services, performing a variety of custodial duties in accordance with the company's established standards, instructions, and procedures. The position requires no prior cleaning experience, the ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team, proficiency with cleaning tools and equipment—including backpack vacuums—strong attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance. • No prior cleaning experience required. • Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate within a team. • Proficiency with cleaning tools and equipment, including backpack vacuums. • Strong attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance.
