About the Role

The engineer will design and size equipment, produce datasheets and specifications, perform hydraulic calculations, and support 3D modeling and construction drawing reviews for heavy‑industrial or oil‑and‑gas facilities. Core responsibilities include creating bills of material for pipes, valves and fittings, evaluating contractor bids, generating line and equipment lists, conducting site walk‑downs, responding to RFIs, and performing stress analysis using CAESAR II. • Produce equipment datasheets, specifications, and pipe specifications with accurate sizing calculations. • Create bills of material for pipes, valves, and fittings. • Evaluate equipment, pipe, and valve bids from contractors. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and designers. • Generate line and equipment lists and support 3D modeling and isometric reviews. • Review construction drawings and documents for compliance. • Conduct site walk‑downs, produce as‑built documentation, and respond to RFIs. • Develop and execute stress analysis models in CAESAR II and prepare reports. • Prepare project cost and bid packages and mechanical scope of work documents.

What You Bring

The position reports to the Director of East Coast Engineering and works Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed. The role is exempt, non‑supervisory, and requires a valid driver’s license. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; no prior experience is required. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, self‑direction, basic leadership, and proficiency with engineering software; a driver’s license with a good record is also required. • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally; solve problems quickly. • Work independently while meeting deliverable timelines. • Demonstrate basic leadership by guiding work groups or task forces. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
