About the Role

MasTec Communications Group builds future‑focused telecommunications infrastructure. As a Tower Technician II you will develop new skills in a safety‑oriented environment while contributing to community‑enhancing projects. The role involves installing, maintaining, and operating various telecom systems, adhering to MasTec’s health, safety, and environmental policies as well as industry standards. You will also provide mentorship to less experienced technicians and perform additional duties as assigned. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. • Climb towers and ladders at various heights and conduct erection of multiple tower types. • Off‑load material, prepare and clean sites, and install carriers on new and existing towers. • Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles, and assemble monopoles, weld, and knock‑down self‑support and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas and associated transmission lines, including foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations for tower sites. • Mentor junior technicians while following MasTec safety policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring

Ideal candidates have at least a high school diploma, two years of tower experience, the physical ability to climb towers and lift 50 lb, a valid driver’s license, and a strong commitment to safety. A PWSA certification and problem‑solving mindset are advantageous. • Meet physical requirements: climb towers, lift up to 50 lb, and work shifts of up to 12 hours. • Hold a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of tower experience; possession of a PWSA certification is a plus. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that complies with company policy.
