About the Role
The role begins with field work and will transition the successful candidate into project management responsibilities, requiring technical writing, strong communication, and effective schedule and budget management. • Determine data collection methods for soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, air, sludge, and other environmental matrices. • Conduct investigations, inspections, and surveys to gather information and plan future environmental needs. • Prepare tables, charts, visualizations, and accurate reports to present data and findings. • Write technical reports and presentations that recommend solutions to prevent, control, or restore environmental problems. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data integrity, documentation, and record retention. • Assist in scoping and developing medium‑ to large‑scale projects and oversee cross‑functional teams. • Develop and implement Work Plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) per Federal guidelines. • Interact professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients. • Conduct research and support proposal development. • Stay current on environmental science techniques and uphold ethical decision‑making per WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related technical discipline. • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental investigations, including planning, field work, data processing, technical writing, and presentations. • Working knowledge of state and Federal protection regulations, guidelines, and permitting processes. • Project management experience with small to medium‑size projects. • Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to interpret test results and identify effective solutions. • Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety, and harassment policies. • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise technical reports independently. • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for scientific and non‑scientific audiences. • Self‑leadership, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. • Ability to mentor junior team members and enforce QA/QC standards. • Willingness to work extended schedules, travel (including overnight), and pass HAZWOPER physical and motor‑vehicle screening. • Agreement to comply with client‑mandated drug/alcohol testing policies. • Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field. • Preferred: Experience with quantitative hydrogeologic analysis. • Preferred: Proficiency in creating graphics using preferred software platforms. • Preferred: Completion of 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training (29 CFR 1910.120). • Preferred: Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certification.
