About the Role

The Assembler in switchboard assembly is responsible for selecting and installing various components and devices using hand and power tools. The role requires interpreting drawings, diagrams, and blueprints to fabricate custom‑ordered switchboards. Effective communication and teamwork are essential to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives. The position supports a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture. Assemblers work from manufacturing information such as front‑view drawings, bills of material, order entry systems, and oral or written instructions to build switchboards and panelboards, proactively identifying any missing components. Hand tools are used to install material precisely while adhering to established procedures. Progress of jobs is monitored, and any shortages or problem areas are communicated promptly. Opportunities for process improvement are sought, and root‑cause analysis is performed when quality or production issues arise. Quality responsibilities include visual inspections before and after assembly, identifying non‑conforming parts, and troubleshooting errors. • Follow safety policies, use personal protective equipment, and perform 5S duties. • Assemble switchboards using hand and power tools based on drawings, bills of material, and instructions. • Conduct visual inspections and troubleshoot non‑conforming parts before and after assembly. • Identify missing components, communicate shortages, and maintain job progress. • Propose process improvements and conduct root‑cause analysis for quality or production issues. • Cross‑train and provide coverage for other job functions as needed.

What You Bring

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the Sumter facility. Preferred experience includes complex assembly operations, blueprint reading, and use of measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers. Strong verbal and written communication, analytical problem‑solving, and teamwork skills are needed, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to Lean environment requirements is expected. • Hold a high school diploma or GED and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Possess experience with complex assembly, blueprint reading, and measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, analytical problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities. • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to work flexible hours and overtime.
