About the Role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components, equipment specifications, procurement packages, detailed design and review processes, and compliance with IEEE/NESC Standards and NERC regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing third‑party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans; performing complex electrical engineering design work such as single‑line and three‑line diagrams, substation layout, grounding grid, lightning protection, equipment sizing, AC/DC panel design, and conduit/trenching strategies; and supporting senior engineers with research and component recommendations. • Collect, compile, and analyze data for substation components and procurement packages while ensuring compliance with IEEE/NESC and NERC standards. • Review and advise on third‑party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans. • Design single‑line, three‑line, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, grounding grids, lightning protection, and AC/DC panel and conduit systems. • Incorporate future‑ready techniques, equipment sizing, and cabling strategies to ensure safety and functionality. • Support senior engineers with component research, field equipment applications, and operational recommendations. • Uphold ethical decision‑making, adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct, and follow health, safety, and harassment policies.

What You Bring

The role requires adherence to ethical decision‑making, company policies, and WSP’s Code of Conduct, as well as performing additional duties as needed. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), have 5‑7 years of design experience on large capital projects, possess an Engineer in Training certification (PE preferred), be U.S. citizens eligible for Secret/Top Secret clearance, and demonstrate proficiency in electrical engineering principles, project controls, and safety compliance. Preferred qualifications include an active Secret/Top Secret clearance. Relocation assistance is not provided. • Provide 5–7 years of electrical engineering design experience on large capital projects; hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Possess Engineer in Training certification (PE preferred) and be eligible for U.S. Secret/Top Secret clearance. • Demonstrate proficiency with operations, project controls, reporting, and proposal development.
