About the Role
The Journeyman 1‑Refrigeration installs refrigeration systems according to customer specifications, building codes, and proper piping practices, providing construction support by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, installing pipe hangers, welding and slip‑hosing copper pipes, and handling coil installations for new or remodeled supermarket refrigeration systems. • Install refrigeration systems per specifications, codes, and piping standards • Pipe cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including required electrical wiring • Install pipe hangers as directed by foreman • Weld and slip‑hose copper pipes; assist foreman as needed • Handle cooler box coils and install or remodel supermarket refrigeration systems • Work at heights using ladders or scissor lifts • Operate in noisy mechanical rooms and outdoor inclement weather

What You Bring
Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, have completed relevant trade or technical courses, possess EPA Type II certification, and bring at least five years of construction and commercial refrigeration experience, including copper brazing, electrical wiring, carpentry, blueprint reading, and strong mechanical and safety skills. The role is physically demanding, requiring work in convenience stores, grocery and food‑service settings, and construction sites, often at heights using ladders or scissor lifts, with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and inclement weather, and demands lifting up to 25 lb regularly (up to 50 lb occasionally) while using appropriate PPE. • High school diploma or GED with trade/technical training • EPA Type II certification • 5+ years of construction/commercial refrigeration experience • Experience with copper brazing and market remodeling • Good driving record • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations • Carpentry, plumbing, and refrigeration piping expertise • Ability to read refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing blueprints • Proficient with hand and power tools; strong mechanical skills • Safety awareness and ability to oversee safe work practices • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow company policies • Proficiency with email, Word, Excel • Exposure to extreme cold from refrigerants and high heat from brazing • Lift/move up to 25 lb routinely, up to 50 lb occasionally • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing; use of proper PPE
