About the Role
The Civil Engineering Co‑op/Intern position supports large‑scale transportation and remediation projects in Boston and surrounding regions for the Spring and Summer terms of 2026. Under the direction of a degreed engineer, the student will perform basic to moderately difficult engineering support tasks, including design drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to gain practical knowledge of civil‑engineering projects. • Assist with civil engineering tasks for transportation and remediation design projects. • Develop design drawings and write technical specifications. • Perform engineering calculations to support design projects. • Write design reports and technical memorandums. • Collaborate effectively with project teams. • Participate in field work such as sampling or construction oversight. • Apply behavior‑based safety tools to maintain incident‑free operations.

What You Bring
Interns are expected to work in a highly flexible, team‑oriented environment, demonstrating strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. They will collaborate with project teams, may conduct field work such as sampling or construction oversight, and are required to apply behavior‑based safety tools to maintain incident‑free operations. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program, having completed at least two years of coursework in civil, structural, environmental, or geotechnical engineering. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of CAD and related design software are required; no security clearance is needed. • Be enrolled in an accredited engineering program (civil, structural, environmental, or geotechnical) with at least two years of coursework. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and possess working knowledge of CAD software.
