About the Role
• Provide on-site support to Florida DOT Central Office • Maintain and enhance multimodal transportation asset management systems • Enhance data analytics for asset management and traffic monitoring • Develop metadata and documentation for federal reporting and state business needs • Improve ETL operations for roadway and traffic data • Refine manual or automated workflows for roadway asset feature extraction • Advance AI/ML processes using aerial or street-level imagery for asset extraction • Integrate roadway asset data into GIS • Create scripts or programs to automate functions in desktop or web GIS environments • Support the Department’s Digital Asset Management initiative • Develop and maintain custom tools, GIS extensions, and applications • Provide project management, administrative, and technical support • Assist with quality assurance functions • Conduct outreach and training for data awareness, education, collaboration, and capacity building • Prepare for and participate in public information meetings and hearings

What You Bring
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL) • Proficiency in FME or other ETL tools • Experience with Oracle Spatial or SQL Server Spatial back‑end processing • Web‑based application development skills • Relational database management experience • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning expertise • Remote sensing or computer vision experience • Asset Management background • Knowledge of Snowflake and AWS cloud platforms • Experience with SCADA/OT systems such as Cygnet, FlowCal, Enertia, and Field Data Capture tools • Understanding of NIST cybersecurity framework, MITRE ATT&CK, and data governance best practices • Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience • At least 5 years of data engineering experience with SQL, Power Query, and Pandas • At least 5 years of BI experience with Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, or Matplotlib • At least 5 years of data science experience with Python and R • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented professional with strong multitasking ability • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook • Ability to handle confidential information • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills • Strong mathematical and organizational abilities • Flexibility to prioritize multiple tasks and managers in a fast‑paced environment • Outstanding verbal and written communication, including grammar and proofreading • In‑depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data analytics • Proven experience leading multiple complex data science projects • Experience mentoring junior data scientists • Experience setting strategic direction for data management, data science practices, and technology planning
