About the Role
• Meet with clients to evaluate, define, and review project objectives and ensure requirements are met in the design. • Develop complete construction documents (SD, DD, CD) showing design intent, specifications, and support system‑related construction administration activities. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop functional requirements, system designs, and related project specifications. • Create alternative system design concepts, conduct feasibility and trade‑off studies, and deliver value‑added engineering solutions. • Stay current on industry product offerings and research emerging technologies. • Provide construction administration services, including reviewing submittals and responding to contractor inquiries. • Assist with problem resolution and technical troubleshooting during field support. • Meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks independently, and maintain quality while staying on schedule and under budget.

What You Bring
• Demonstrate strong engineering knowledge of telecommunications (horizontal/backbone cabling) or electronic security systems and coordinate commercial hardware. • Hold an associate/technical school degree or equivalent education and 2‑10 years of related experience (or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering). • Exhibit strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. • Work effectively in a high‑velocity environment with attention to detail and workmanship quality. • Proficient in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and able to learn new applications quickly. • Knowledge of engineering drawing and design standards and practices. • Pass a government security investigation and meet eligibility for classified information access. • Preference given to local candidates and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
