About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will supervise the overall financial health of projects, develop and maintain financial and equipment projections, and allocate estimates within the financial system while approving invoices. They will provide financials and billing information to Accounting, create monthly owner billings, and manage subcontracts, suppliers, budgets, and selections. Leadership duties include guiding Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, acting as the primary contact with owners and on‑site representatives, and resolving site concerns, change orders, and approvals. Additionally, they will maintain schedules and budgets and ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance. • Supervise overall financial health of projects • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections • Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices • Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings • Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training • Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative • Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals • Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance

What You Bring

Mortenson is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager I to lead one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the project team. The role involves developing and improving customer relationships through excellent service and communication with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Success requires flexibility, creativity, dedication, efficiency, high integrity, and confidentiality. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience, and at least eight years of experience managing large construction projects of $50 million or more. Candidates must be able to handle multiple complex projects, possess strong listening and communication skills, and have a basic understanding of construction law and business practices. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and related web applications, a professional attitude, strong customer service, knowledge of Mortenson policies, and a current driver’s license are also required. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Minimum eight years of construction project management or related experience overseeing large projects ($50 million or larger) • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, large complex projects • Active listening skills and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web applications • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Current driver’s license
