About the Role
The Maintenance Machinist ensures reliable operation of the machine shop by machining parts, assembling and disassembling components, inspecting equipment, and performing routine maintenance. This role supports the production process by maintaining precision and safety standards across a variety of mechanical systems. • Read and interpret blueprints to machine parts and assemble/disassemble components. • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment to restore operating condition. • Perform precise measurements using micrometers and related tools. • Operate machining centers such as lathes, mills, boring machines, drills, grinders, presses, and CNC equipment. • Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems, repairing valves, cylinders, and pumps. • Use oxy/acetylene torches and heaters for cutting and heating tasks. • Operate overhead, jib, radio‑controlled, and pendant cranes. • Operate mobile equipment including fork trucks and flatbeds. • Adjust, maintain, lubricate, and repair machining equipment.
