About the Role

The Operating Engineer role at JLL supports operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This on‑site position serves the local market in Pittsburgh, PA, and may vary slightly by region. Core duties include painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting fixtures, plumbing, HVAC, water‑treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance. The engineer also maintains the work‑order system (CMMS), fulfills tenant service requests, performs preventive maintenance and inspections, supports on‑call or emergency situations, troubleshoots building systems—including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls—and complies with all safety procedures while participating in ongoing technical training. • Perform painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, water‑treatment, locksmith, and general upkeep tasks. • Update and manage work orders in the CMMS daily and respond to tenant service requests. • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on building systems. • Provide on‑call or emergency response support as needed. • Troubleshoot electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls. • Follow all safety procedures and complete ongoing technical training. • Use Microsoft Office applications and lift up to 50 lb; work on ladders up to 30 ft. • Deliver strong customer service in an on‑site Pittsburgh location.

What You Bring

Candidates should have three or more years of related experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry, and possess trade‑school, union, military or college education. A universal CFC EPA certification (or interest in obtaining it within the first year with JLL assistance), proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on ladders up to 30 ft, and strong customer‑service skills are required. • Bring 3+ years of experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. • Hold or pursue a universal CFC EPA certification within the first year.
