About the Role
The Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The role requires ensuring the vehicle complies with the company’s safety standards before each shift, adhering to all company, state, and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Each day begins with a thorough pre‑operation inspection of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, followed by a post‑operation check, with any safety issues documented on standard reports. The driver follows the route sheet, reads maps, and services each customer or dispatcher‑assigned stop, operating manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and dispose of waste at the designated facility. They also keep the truck clean by removing waste from the packer blade and body after each disposal run, ensuring the vehicle remains operationally ready. Drivers complete required route and productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other documentation while meeting departmental productivity standards and following all safety policies.
