Lab Technician - Hazardous Waste

About the Role

In the laboratory you will receive waste samples, generate Waste Analysis Reports, maintain sample tracking and data entry, and coordinate disposal paperwork with truck drivers. You will also produce various reports, manage section files and approval folders, update AS‑400 profiles, and handle inventory control by researching vendors, preparing bids, and ordering supplies. Supporting technicians and chemists with Lab I procedures, maintaining housekeeping, and working independently with minimal supervision are also key aspects of the role. • Receive waste samples and generate Waste Analysis Reports (WAR) with tracking and data entry. • Coordinate disposal paperwork pickup with truck drivers after analytical testing. • Produce and maintain reports, section files, logs, and approval folders. • Update profiles in the AS‑400 system and assist approvals personnel. • Manage inventory by researching vendors, preparing bid packages, and ordering supplies, equipment, PPE, and chemicals. • Assist technicians and chemists with Lab I level procedures. • Maintain housekeeping and follow site‑specific procedures. • Work independently with minimal supervision, applying judgment to ensure paperwork accuracy. • Utilize database and spreadsheet applications for laboratory documentation. • Perform frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, and constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED and have at least one year of waste‑disposal experience, including waste code utilization. A working knowledge of RCRA, DOT, Hazwoper, and related environmental regulations is required, along with forklift certification and driver‑only DOT & M2Z endorsement. Applicants must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug test, complete ongoing medical exams, be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED. • Possess at least one year of waste‑disposal experience with waste code utilization. • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, Hazwoper, and related environmental regulations. • Certified forklift operator and driver‑only DOT & M2Z endorsement. • Complete pre‑employment physical, drug test, and ongoing medical examinations (pulmonary, audiogram, respirator fit test). • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, and inclement weather.
