About the Role

Recent work includes re‑meandering design and construction supervision for the River Breamish (SSSI and SAC) and River Eye, modelling for the River Cocker, nature recovery and wetland restoration for Northumberland estates, and landscape‑scale flood management planning in the North York Moors National Park. The team also handles weir removals, fish passes, river basin‑scale restoration planning, WFD and BNG surveys, and geomorphological management plans in New Zealand. Key technical responsibilities encompass geomorphology and hydromorphology analysis, hydraulic and sediment‑transport modelling, detailed river engineering design, and coordination of multi‑discipline teams under CDM regulations. The role also requires strong project management, client engagement, health and safety oversight, and coaching of junior staff. • Lead planning, modelling, and design of sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes • Manage detailed design and construction supervision for re‑meandering, weir removals, and fish passes • Conduct hydraulic and sediment‑transport modelling and flood hazard analysis • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and ensure CDM compliance • Provide project management, client liaison, and commercial oversight • Coach and mentor junior team members

The role involves planning, modelling, designing, and managing sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes while collaborating with regulators, water companies, wildlife trusts, estate managers, and developers. Candidates must hold a degree in geography, physical sciences, engineering, or a related discipline, and have proven experience in river restoration.
