About the Role

The journeyman will assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools. Responsibilities include connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components, as well as testing circuits with devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to verify safety and compatibility. Additional duties involve installing, repairing, and maintaining motors, generators, lights, high‑voltage systems, and other electrical components in compliance with codes and regulations. The role requires reading plans, drawings, and work orders to determine work sequences, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting faults by replacing defective parts. The journeyman will organize work by reviewing work orders, gathering tools and supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe work environment by following standards, procedures, and applicable codes. Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for the maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, trade or technical school certification, apprenticeship testing, union‑specific and Mortenson training, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be able to read plans, operate various power tools and fall‑protection equipment, demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills, and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. • Hold a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and relevant trade certification. • Possess a valid driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
