About the Role

The Senior Estimator will review bid requirements, participate in pre‑bid meetings and site tours, coordinate take‑off drawings, and obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors. They will manage relationships with these partners, identify drawing concerns, report risks to the lead estimator, assist in schedule and work‑plan development, and prepare project budgets and change‑order estimates while seeking cost‑effective solutions. • Review bid documents and ensure all project requirements are captured. • Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site tours, and bid review sessions. • Coordinate take‑offs and obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors. • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships to meet bid deadlines. • Identify drawing concerns and communicate risks to the lead estimator. • Assist in developing project schedules, work plans, and budgets. • Prepare change‑order estimates and propose cost‑effective solutions. • Compile bid packages for subcontractor quotations.

The role involves client engagement, reviewing bid documents, detailed quantity take‑offs, securing subcontractor and vendor pricing, and preparing accurate cost estimates and bid packages for new and existing heavy civil and underground utility projects. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office and construction estimating software such as InEight, Hard Dollar, Bid Build, or HeavyBid, as well as 2D/3D take‑off tools like Bluebeam Revu, AGTEK, and Civil CAD. Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), a solid understanding of civil engineering design, mass grading, earthwork, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure, along with strong communication and detail‑orientation, are required. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, and a minimum of three to five years of estimating experience on heavy civil projects is expected.
