About the Role
The Mechanical Engineer will work under the Resident Engineer and Project Manager on major infrastructure projects, focusing on sewage treatment plants (STP). The role includes overseeing construction, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and associated infrastructure. The position is based on‑site in Dubai, reporting to the supervision team. • Supervise mechanical works for stormwater networks, pumping stations, and related facilities. • Review and approve contractors’ shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. • Develop and implement QA/QC procedures, including inspection and test plans and commissioning protocols. • Inspect installations of pumps, valves, piping, flow meters, screens, penstocks, actuators, and control systems. • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, and RTA standards. • Verify testing, commissioning, performance tests, calibration, and handover documentation. • Monitor mechanical progress, reporting delays, deviations, and corrective actions to the Resident Engineer. • Coordinate technical clarifications, RFIs, and issue resolution with the Head Office design team. • Align interfaces between civil, structural, electrical, and control disciplines. • Review and confirm accuracy of as‑built drawings prior to handover. • Participate in factory and site acceptance tests and system commissioning. • Enforce HSE requirements during mechanical work, lifting, and confined‑space activities. • Assist in evaluating contractors’ progress claims, variations, and change requests. • Mentor junior engineers and inspectors in quality and safety best practices.

What You Bring
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline and must have RTA approval for micro‑tunneling works. A minimum of ten years’ experience supervising mechanical engineering, specifically on STP projects, is required, along with familiarity with RTA, DM and DEWA standards. • Minimum 10 years’ mechanical engineering supervision experience with STP projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field; RTA micro‑tunneling certification required.
