Structural Engineer - Site Supervision

About the Role

The role involves supervising bridge construction, reviewing shop drawings and method statements, coordinating with design engineers, maintaining daily logs, managing inspectors, chairing meetings with authorities and contractors, ensuring safety, preparing progress reports, issuing site instructions, verifying work progress, and overseeing as‑built documentation and handover. • Supervise construction of bridges, viaducts, and related items. • Review shop drawings, design proposals, and method statements; prepare response documents. • Coordinate with Parsons design engineers to resolve technical issues. • Maintain daily diaries, inspection reports, and schedule coordination with contractors. • Direct and monitor performance of inspectors and surveyors. • Chair meetings with service authorities, contractors, and subcontractors. • Ensure project safety goals are met and oversee implementation of safety procedures. • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. • Issue on‑site instructions for utility works and related items. • Verify performed work, record progress versus program, and measure as‑built accuracy. • Manage as‑built drawing records and handle handover of structural works to authorities.

What You Bring

Parsons is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to assist the Resident Engineer in design review and construction of structural works, particularly bridges and viaducts, for Dubai’s growing infrastructure. You will report to the Resident Engineer and coordinate closely with the construction supervision team. The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have at least six years of experience supervising bridge and underpass construction. You should be able to review material submissions, analyze laboratory reports, conduct acceptance testing, and be proficient with engineering software and computer tools, while possessing excellent written and verbal English communication skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. • Minimum six years’ experience supervising bridge and underpass construction. • Ability to review material submissions, analyze lab reports, and conduct acceptance testing. • Proficient with engineering and construction software; fully computer literate. • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. • Preferred experience supervising major bridges in the Gulf region. • Preferred engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC.
