About the Role
The Senior Associate Engineer at Hubbell is responsible for the full spectrum of assignments that determine, maintain, and improve the efficiency, utilization, productivity, and quality of assigned manufacturing work units. This role performs engineering activities to achieve production, quality, and cost objectives while ensuring compliance with Hubbell’s product certifications. Each day involves receiving and evaluating project requests, planning activities, and analyzing customer technical requirements to recommend solutions such as new product development or engineer‑to‑order designs. The engineer researches industry standards, designs and simulates products, selects materials, generates specifications, and conducts laboratory testing. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams, documentation of drawings, engineering changes, and sample requests, as well as reporting project status, are integral parts of the role. Interaction with other departments for design for manufacturing, cost reductions, and attending industry events further supports project success. • Receive, review, and evaluate project requests and plan activities for completion. • Analyze customer technical requirements and recommend solutions, including new product development or engineer‑to‑order. • Research and interpret industry standards and technical information to satisfy product design inputs. • Design products, perform simulation tests, select materials, and generate specifications. • Participate in cross‑functional teams to ensure all project tasks are completed. • Request, perform analysis, and evaluate laboratory tests. • Conduct engineering investigations of failures, complaints, variations, and provide corrective solutions. • Initiate drawing orders, engineering changes, sample/prototype requests, purchase requisitions, and related paperwork. • Report project status and progress while completing additional duties. • Interact with other departments for design for manufacturing, cost reductions, and internal improvements. • Attend trade shows, supplier visits, seminars, standards meetings, and conferences to support sales and project needs.

What You Bring
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, with 1‑3 years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess strong troubleshooting, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of electrical industry design and performance standards, effective project management, and the ability to work collaboratively across supply chain, operations, manufacturing, sales, and marketing are essential. Process improvement and data analysis abilities are preferred.
