About the Role
The role involves identifying required tools and safety risks for each task, fabricating equipment according to blueprints or supervisor instructions, and positioning and securing rebar, mesh, and end caps using bending machines, hand tools, and fasteners. Additionally, the employee will cut, bend, and weld iron or steel pieces with shears, torches, bending tools, and welding equipment. • Identify tools and safety precautions for each task. • Fabricate, position, and secure rebar, mesh, and end caps per blueprints. • Cut, bend, and weld steel using shears, torches, and welding equipment. • Work in all weather conditions using appropriate fall protection.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of helper reinforced ironworker experience, possess all required knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to meet the physical demands of the role. They must be capable of working at heights over 300 feet, have all necessary tools, and reliable transportation. Preferred candidates include current or former Zachry employees, holders of NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter, and those with formal technical education. Experience with scaffolding, insulation, and painting is also valued. Physical requirements include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting, as well as the ability to communicate verbally and signal with arms and hands. Workers must be able to lift up to 50 lb, work at heights using ladders or scaffolding with proper fall protection, and operate in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirators, high‑visibility vests, leather gloves, and steel‑toed boots. • Minimum 2 years reinforced ironworker helper experience. • Ability to work safely at heights over 300 ft. • NCCER Industrial Journeyman Carpenter certification preferred. • Experience with scaffolding, insulation, and painting is advantageous. • Reliable transportation and required personal protective equipment. • No direct reports; adherence to safety and PPE standards required.
