About the Role
The Business Development Manager role focuses on expanding Firestorm’s presence within U.S. Indo‑Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), preferably based in Hawaii. This mission‑critical position will identify, qualify, and capture high‑value opportunities, shape acquisition strategies, and work closely with government officials and defense industry stakeholders to support regional defense operations. • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within INDOPACOM, the U.S. military, and allied agencies. • Develop market strategies based on industry insights and geopolitical dynamics. • Build and execute capture strategies for INDOPACOM, PACFLEET, USARPAC, and other DoD opportunities. • Lead the capture lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal submission. • Shape and assist winning proposals for RFIs/RFPs, ensuring compliance and competitiveness. • Engage senior INDOPACOM and DoD leaders to influence acquisition decisions. • Drive program planning for key defense initiatives and monitor regional security shifts. • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to tailor solutions to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. • Coordinate cross‑functional teams to develop competitive responses and position Firestorm as the preferred provider. • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis to refine strategies. • Represent Firestorm at high‑level industry and defense forums.

What You Bring
The position can be located in Hawaii or at Firestorm’s headquarters in San Diego, with up to 25% travel domestically and internationally. It operates in a standard office environment that may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, dust, or chemicals, requiring typical office physical capabilities. • Minimum 8 years of business development, capture management, or related defense experience. • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance (ITAR compliance). • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. • Proven expertise in proposal development for RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids. • Experience in outside sales and lead development for U.S. Federal Government customers, especially INDOPACOM or SOCPAC. • Deep knowledge of INDOPACOM’s mission, structure, and defense priorities. • Robust network within the U.S. military, INDOPACOM, and defense agencies; ability to engage senior leaders. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for cross‑functional collaboration. • Demonstrated ability to design and execute business development strategies that capture large contracts. • High ownership mindset and ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments. • 10+ years of experience in field operations, logistics, or operational leadership (preferred). • Prior military experience, particularly in operations or mission command roles (preferred). • Expertise in maritime and autonomous defense solutions aligned with INDOPACOM requirements (preferred). • Understanding of Indo‑Pacific geopolitical dynamics and U.S. defense strategy (preferred). • Established relationships with defense contractors and regional agencies (preferred). • Multilingual capabilities in Indo‑Pacific languages (plus). • Background in startup or high‑growth environments (preferred).

Benefits
The US salary range for this role is $152,000 – $193,000, subject to experience, education, skills, location, and business needs. Compensation may be adjusted as market conditions evolve.
