About the Role
The role involves safely performing new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized overhead work, including stringing wire, setting poles and anchors, and assisting with the installation of transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. Linemen also replace transformer fuses, clear faulted circuits, maintain company vehicles and tools, and perform any other related tasks required to complete the job. • Perform safe construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized overhead lines. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Assist with installation of transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Replace transformer fuses and clear faulted circuits. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Identify primary and secondary voltages and understand induced voltage. • Properly install, inspect, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and rubber goods. • Tie lineman knots, use hand lines, and operate Kellum grips. • Follow grounding procedures and correctly install/remove services and transformer connections.

What You Bring
The Class C Lineman is an entry‑level position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. Work is performed at various locations and may require interstate travel depending on customer demands. Candidates need 1–2 years of experience, the ability to perform rigorous physical labor, and knowledge of primary and secondary voltages, induced voltage, and grounding procedures. They must be capable of safely setting poles, climbing various structures, installing and inspecting PPE, using hand lines and Kellum grips, identifying line material, and obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (preferred). The role also requires the ability to lift over 50 lb, work in inclement weather, travel on short notice, and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. The position demands regular standing, walking, hearing, and manual dexterity, and often involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical vibration, loud noise, and extreme outdoor conditions. Employees must follow company safety rules and policies and demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and customer focus. • Possess 1–2 years of relevant experience and ability to perform rigorous physical labor. • Safely set poles, climb wood or steel structures, and work at heights or in confined spaces. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (preferred) and be able to travel long distances on short notice. • Lift over 50 lb, work outdoors in inclement weather, and be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
