About the Role
The Staff Accountant will manage full‑cycle property accounting, handle lease administration and analysis, oversee accounts receivable and payable, prepare financial reports, maintain Yardi and QuickBooks systems, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support audits. • Manage month‑end close, journal entries, and balance‑sheet reconciliations for assigned properties. • Review and interpret commercial leases to bill base rent, operating expenses, and CAM accurately. • Process tenant billings, rent payments, vendor invoices, and property‑maintenance disbursements. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages in compliance with GAAP. • Utilize Yardi for property accounting and QuickBooks for corporate tracking. • Assist Property Managers with annual budgets and mid‑year forecasts. • Compile work papers and documentation for tax preparation and external audits.

What You Bring
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our commercial real estate management team. This role handles the day‑to‑day financial operations of a diverse portfolio that includes commercial office, retail, and industrial properties. The ideal candidate is a tech‑savvy accounting professional with deep experience in Yardi and QuickBooks, capable of managing complex lease structures and property‑level financial reporting. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, have 2–4 years of accounting or billing experience, and at least two years of hands‑on Yardi and QuickBooks experience. Proficiency in Excel, strong knowledge of commercial‑real‑estate accounting—including office, retail, and industrial lease structures—and excellent attention to detail and communication skills are required. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Possess 2–4 years of accounting/billing experience and 2+ years with Yardi and QuickBooks. • Demonstrate advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas. • Understand office lease load factors, tenant‑improvement allowances, and rent steps. • Know retail lease percentage rent calculations and anchor tenant complexities. • Experience with industrial NNN lease structures and utility reimbursements. • Exhibit strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and effective communication. • Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
