About the Role

The position involves performing system commissioning for Johnson Controls building automation equipment, troubleshooting basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems, and responding to warranty calls. The technician serves as a trusted advisor, delivering high‑level service to improve building efficiency and resolve service issues. Key duties include loading controller software, conducting basic commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to field devices, calibrating systems with electronic test equipment, and producing all required documentation. The role also requires regular communication with the JCI contractor or customer, adherence to safety standards, and completion of administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports. • Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls tools. • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues. • Respond to warranty calls and provide on‑site service solutions. • Load system‑level controller software and run diagnostics on sensors and actuators. • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment. • Complete commissioning documentation, as‑built records, and administrative tasks (timesheets, expense reports). • Communicate job progress and issues to management, contractors, and customers. • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training. • Provide recommendations, upsell opportunities, and prepare quotes for solutions.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a two‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air‑conditioning or a related field, or possess at least three years of relevant industry experience. Required knowledge includes HVAC control and facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and the ability to program HVAC software; strong interpersonal, leadership, and PC skills are also essential. • Hold a 2‑year degree in a related field or ≥3 years HVAC industry experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of HVAC control systems, facilities management, and equipment installation. • Exhibit strong interpersonal, leadership, and technical communication skills. • Proficient in PC use and HVAC software programming.
