About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Small Works Project Manager to join our Bristol team, working with NHS clients to deliver small hard‑facilities and construction projects. The role focuses on managing financial and contractual aspects of minor works, ensuring they meet high standards, are completed on time, and stay within budget. The position supports the hard‑facilities maintenance healthcare team by delivering a range of small works, from floor‑covering changes and re‑decoration to power installations, LED upgrades, roofing, boiler updates, and office refurbishments. The role acts as the primary liaison between Rydon and the end client, fostering strong relationships with site managers and subcontractors. Reporting to the Project Manager, the incumbent will assist with client requests and quotations, help prepare tender documentation, issue small‑value subcontractor orders, and, under supervision, oversee instructed works, including work‑program updates, health‑and‑safety RAMS, site coordination, and O&M reporting. Additional duties include supporting design and site meetings, maintaining lifecycle schedules to identify future opportunities, keeping business systems current for accurate reporting, and ensuring compliance with Rydon's quality, governance, and health‑and‑safety policies while delivering services within budgetary and contractual limits. • Assist with client requests and produce quotations for proposed works. • Prepare tender documentation as required. • Create and issue small‑value subcontractor orders. • Oversee instructed works, including work‑program updates, RAMS, site coordination, and O&M reporting. • Support design and site meetings to meet client and tender requirements. • Maintain and update lifecycle schedules to identify future business opportunities. • Keep business systems current to ensure accurate reporting. • Adhere to Rydon's quality assurance standards and legal governance policies. • Deliver services within budgetary constraints and contractual obligations.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will have experience or knowledge of facilities operations or project management, a solid understanding of budgeting and planning, and construction knowledge including Building Regulations. Willingness to obtain relevant certifications (IOSH Managing Safely, CSCS, SMSTS) and a degree or HNC in a related field is desirable. Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, the ability to work independently and adapt to change, and a full UK driving licence are essential. • Experience in facilities operations or project management. • Understanding of budgeting, planning, and strong analytical skills. • Knowledge of construction techniques, processes, and Building Regulations. • Willingness to obtain IOSH Managing Safely, CSCS Skill Card, SMSTS qualifications; degree/HNC desirable. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities. • Ability to work independently, proactively, and adapt to changing circumstances. • Full UK driving licence.
